Travel Information
Attendees are responsible for making their own air/train travel arrangements.
Airports. The most convenient arrival airport is London Heathrow (http://www.baa.co.uk/main/airports/heathrow/), from which there is frequent express coach service to Oxford (see below). London Gatwick (http://www.baa.co.uk/main/airports/gatwick/) is a little further, but again there is direct coach service to and from Oxford. Other airports include Birmingham International, Stansted and Luton but these have less frequent coach and/or rail connections with Oxford.
Trains. There are frequent direct trains from London Paddington and regular links northwards via Birmingham, southwards via Reading, and westwards via Didcot. Consult the interactive timetable at Railtrack for more details. Taxis are available from the Oxford train station, located on Park End Street.
Ground Travel. There are very frequent coach services from London Victoria Station and Heathrow and Gatwick Airports operated by Oxford Bus and Stagecoach ('the Oxford Tube'), with less frequent service from Birmingham International airports. There are connections with many other parts of the country, including a direct service to Cambridge. The central bus and coach depot (Gloucester Green) is a 10-minute walk south of St. Anne's College. There is also a taxi rank just near the bus station. Detailed information about coach services can also be found at OXLink Ltd.
Parking at St. Anne's and in Oxford . The best advice is to rely on other forms of transport when visiting Oxford . Parking is not available at the lodging facilities at St. Anne's, unless extenuating circumstances make it necessary and this must be arranged in advance. Please refer to the information above to make arrangements for travel from the airports, train stations, and for local transportation options.
