7th Feb. 2005: International HapMap Consortium Expands Mapping Effort
The International HapMap Consortium, boosted by an additional 3.3 million in public-private support, announces plans to create an even more powerful map of human genetic variation than originally envisioned. The map will accelerate the discovery of genes related to common diseases, such as asthma, cancer, diabetes and heart disease.
10th Dec. 2004: International HapMap Consortium Widens Data Access
The International HapMap Consortium announces that it is ending computer-based "click wrap" license restrictions on data generated by its effort to create a map of human genetic variation. As a result, all of the consortium's data are now completely available to the public, a move that will provide researchers with even easier access to tools for identifying genetic contributions to disease.
29th Oct 2002: International Consortium Launches Genetic Variation Mapping Project
